Wake up Reachy Mini and interact with it using gestures and head movements, powered by MediaPipe.

⚠️ This application is available only on Reachy Mini Lite for now.

How it works

Reachy Mini starts by stretching up, then it searches a face to interact with. It can track a face in real time and react to different hand gestures detected by its camera (open palm, thumbs up/down, index finger raised).

For that, it uses the Mediapipe face detection model, and the MediaPipe Gesture Recognizer for the hand gesture detection.

If Reachy Mini gets bored (no face detected for a while), it takes a little nap before searching again a new companion. And if it follows a face for a long time, it can also make some dances.

How to install

Make sure you already have the dashboard installed.
Connect to your Reachy Mini using the dashboard.
Navigate to the "Applications" tab in the dashboard.
Find "Greetings App" in the list of available applications.
Click "Install" and allow camera access when prompted.
